Our team specifies the right combination for the production: a full range of ND and IRND filters to manage exposure and control infrared on digital sensors, polarizers to cut reflections and deepen skies, and diffusion to shape skin tone and highlight rendering.

Here is the short of it. We carry filters in standard 4x5.65 and larger 6.6x6.6 sizes and supply matte boxes configured with the filter stages the camera build needs. Because diffusion and effects choices are creative decisions best confirmed on the actual camera and glass, we arrange testing time during prep so the cinematographer can lock the look before principal photography. Filters are sourced from reputable suppliers to cinema optical standards, set up for delivery alongside the camera and lens package, and our technicians keep alternatives and extra densities on call through the shoot.

Productions face the high-altitude glare and reflective snow of the Carpathians, where heavy ND and polarizers earn their place, then move to the soft interiors of the painted monasteries of Bukovina or the warm practical light of Peles Castle at Sinaia, where diffusion shapes the mood. The temperate land-based climate gives four distinct seasons, so the same locations carry very different contrast and colour through the year.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. As an EU member now inside the Schengen Area, Romania lets filter sets and matte boxes move freely from elsewhere in the EU with no ATA carnet, so specialty filtration cross-rented from regional houses reaches set fast. Non-EU gear still needs a carnet. Cold winter exteriors call for care against condensation forming on filter surfaces when glass moves between sub-zero exteriors and heated interiors.
