We give and configure communication packages from the deep, mature rental base in Bucharest, built over three decades of servicing global shoots, covering two-way radios, production headsets, wired and wireless intercom, IFB feeds and specialty planning systems. Our team starts with the production's crew size, department structure and location layout, then plans channels, programs gear and distributes handsets so directors, assistant directors, camera, sound and production running all stay connected from first call to wrap.

Here is the short of it. For large stages at MediaPro Studios in Buftea and Castel Film Studios we configure intercom with camera talkback and base stations. For sprawling exteriors we deploy repeaters and long-range units to hold coverage. Multi-unit shoots get set up channel plans with separate department channels and shared frequencies for key staff. Gear arrives pre-programmed, charged and tested with backup units, and we give on-site setup, coverage testing and crew training. Our technicians manage batteries and stay on call through the shoot to keep the production talking.

Here is the breakdown. Radio range in Romania is covered by ANCOM, the National Authority for Management and Rules in Communications, and lawful operation of production comms depends on working inside its allocations. This includes short-term licensing where needed. Our team sets up frequencies and compliance records. We plan with care for the congested band over central Bucharest's communist-era boulevards and Belle Epoque districts.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. As an EU member now inside the Schengen Area, Romania lets comms gear move freely from elsewhere in the EU with no ATA carnet, so extra radios and intercom cross-rented from regional houses reach set fast. Non-EU gear still needs a carnet. Coverage challenges differ widely across Romanian locations, from the thick stone walls of Bran Castle and Corvin Castle that block signal to the open, repeater-dependent expanses of the Carpathians and the UNESCO Danube Delta. The temperate land-based climate brings cold, snowy winters, so we manage battery performance. This drops in sub-zero conditions, across long winter shooting days.
